MUSIC

Director of Music Jonathan Talberg invites you and your family to share in the many opportunities to hear fine music at First Church. Concert offerings include the Annual Los Angeles Bach Festival in the fall, featuring the works of the incomparable composer Johann Sebastian Bach, and the Annual Organ Concert Series, with world-renowned organists at the console of the world's largest church pipe organ.

THE 75th ANNUAL LOS ANGELES BACH FESTIVAL

The Los Angeles Bach Festival is pleased to welcome Jonathan Talberg as artistic director and conductor for our 75th Anniversary festival. A native Southern Californian, an alum of Pepperdine and Chapman Universities, Dr. Talberg worked as a conductor, singer, and pianist from his teens through his twenties as a baritone in the Roger Wagner and William Hall Chorales, and as a choral director in Garden Grove and at the Los Angeles High School for the Arts. After completing his doctorate at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Dr. Talberg returned to Southern California to build the Choral, Vocal, and Opera Studies program at California State University, Long Beach's Cole Conservatory of Music into the largest and one of the most recognized in the state. Former director of the Amadeus Festival in Florence and the Incantato Festival in Amalfi, Dr. Talberg has conducted in the major capitals of Europe, in China, and throughout the United States.
