We offer a wide range of activities at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles. Whether you are a full member, or a first-time visitor, we invite you to participate in the life of our community.
You won't want to miss an exciting Earth Day celebration at First Church on Sunday, April 27 as we welcome Vox Femina Los Angeles, along with members of the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, for a special presentation of "Song of Wisdom" from Old Turtle, by John Martin. Dr. Iris Levine conducts this spectacular composition for mixed chorus and percussion ensemble. Narrated by Dr. R. Scott Colglazier, this exciting piece is a powerful acknowledgment of God's supreme love for the Earth and its inhabitants. Bring a friend and join our celebration!
Have you been visiting First Church and are now ready to learn more about who we are and what we believe? If so, we’d love for you to Discover First Church!
Join Dr. R. Scott Colglazier for a Spiritual Life Retreat that takes a look at three well-known Bible stories and puts them into a context that is meaningful for us as modern-day Christians. This is a great time of learning, sharing, and growing. Space is limited. To reserve your space, contact Jade Hornbaker at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 213-355-5231.
It’s a celebration of our musical life at First Church on Sunday, May 18 as Dr. Jonathan Talberg, Dr. Christoph Bull, and the Cathedral Choir of First Church present the music of Franz Joseph Haydn in a special service highlighting his Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo. Also known as the Little Organ Mass because of its extensive use of the organ, this uplifting piece will be interwoven into our morning worship service as it would have been when it premiered in 1775 in Eisenstadt, Austria. All are welcome!
